Pinterest Gets Into Online Events For Dedicated Class Communities

Sharing is caring!

Pinterest is testing a new feature, which allows users to sign up for a Zoom class with the help of the social media platform. Creators can use Pinterest’s class boards so that they can organize class materials, notes, and other resources. They can even connect with the attendees through the Group chat option.

The social media platform stated that online classes are an experiment that is in progress. It was discovered by reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong, who came up with the idea of online classes by going through the app’s code.

To get a demo on the online classes, viewers can visit the demo profiles directly like “@pinsmeditation” or “@pinzoom123” and can have a look into their listed Class Communities. However, the list is currently empty because the feature is still unreleased.

However, when the feature is launched to the public, the communities section will have dedicated sections where creators can organize their class materials, such as what to bring to class, photos, and more.

Creators can also use the communities to offer a class overview and description, group chat features, connect users to a related shop, and more. They can also use the communities to respond to the attendees’ questions, share photos from the class, and interact with the participants, which are basically enhanced Pinterest boards.

So, when it comes to users, they can click on the ‘Book’ button to sign up, and then they are emailed the confirmation with all the meeting details. Other buttons available on the page will direct the attendees to download Zoom or copy the link to join the class.

Pinterest is getting a popular tool for organizing remote learning resources during the pandemic, and the current online events space will only widen its reach in the social media world. Teachers are reaching out to Pinterest to keep track of the lessons planned and get inspiration from them.

With the online events market spiking up, Pinterest might be able to reach newer heights with its unique and fantastic features.
