The famous messaging platform WhatsApp dropped a new feature to improve the calling experiences of its users. The Meta-owned company keeps serving new features on the plate of its users, and following the same, it is now dropping some amazing features.
As per the sources, WhatsApp has introduced the beta for Windows 2.2246.4.0 update. The new ability will let the users manage call history within the desktop app. This signifies that the new functionality is available for only desktop beta users currently.
The report reveals that a new calls tab will open when you use WhatsApp. Users can find their call history list in the new tab in WhatsApp’s desktop app.
The users can get the details about the call by opening the calling card. “Since this app is a beta version, the call history may not immediately be in sync with the one on your mobile device,” the report says.
Calls placed from the desktop app may not display on your phone. The problem is likely to be addressed in a future release.
It is also predicted that WhatsApp is experimenting with a new feature for its desktop app users. Named the Screen Lock, the feature will come with a security password which will be asked by the user every time they open the application.
It will be an added layer of security to WhatsApp and safeguard against unidentified access when the user is not using its device running WhatsApp. According to the latest report, the feature is presently under development and is predicted to be dropped to some beta testers in the future.
